Nothing is more important to us at Hamilton Dental Group than treating our patients with compassion and empathy. We know that dental concerns can sometimes be a source of discomfort, and we're here to change that.
Dental crowns are one way to restore broken, worn, or decayed teeth, helping you regain your confident smile. Custom-made to seamlessly match your other teeth, they're a durable and effective solution that can last for many years.
At Hamilton Dental Group, we place our patients and their smiles at the heart of everything we do. We believe that high-quality dental care should be accessible and affordable to everyone in our community.
That's why we offer a wide range of payment options and consistently work with various insurance plans to make your dental crown procedure as stress-free as possible.
A dental crown is a custom-fitted covering that is placed over a tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. Crowns are typically recommended for teeth that are broken, severely worn down, have large fillings, or have undergone root canal treatment. They can also be used for cosmetic improvements to enhance the smile’s overall appearance.
At Hamilton Dental Group, we offer a variety of crown materials to meet your specific needs, including porcelain, ceramic, zirconia, metal alloys, and composite resin. Porcelain and ceramic crowns are popular choices for their natural appearance and durability, making them a great option for front teeth. Metal crowns are typically used for back teeth due to their strength. Our experienced dentists will work with you to choose the best material based on the location of your crown, aesthetic preferences, and budget.
The process typically requires two visits to our office. During the first visit, the tooth is prepared by removing any decay and shaping the surface to fit the crown. We then take an impression of the tooth to create a custom crown, and a temporary crown is placed to protect the tooth while your permanent crown is being made. On the second visit, the temporary crown is removed, and the permanent crown is adjusted as needed and securely cemented in place.
Caring for a dental crown involves the same practices as caring for your natural teeth. This includes brushing twice daily, flossing daily, and attending regular dental check-ups and cleanings. While crowns are durable and long-lasting, it’s essential to avoid habits like teeth grinding, clenching, or chewing hard foods that can damage the crown. With proper care, your dental crown can last many years, contributing to a healthy, beautiful smile.
